Guillermo Varela had an up and down spell after being thrust into first-team action, coupling fantastic performances with some very naive mistakes, but he showed the type of promise that will no doubt see him involved in the first-team squad next season.
And it certainly helps when you can score massive goals for the U21s.
On Tuesday night, Man Utd took on Spurs in the U21 league knowing that a win would secure the title, and with the scores level at 2-2 in stoppage time, Varela sparked wild celebrations with a dramatic late winner at White Hart Lane.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Paddy McNair and Andreas Pereira started alongside Varela as U21s who have recently been involved in Van Gaal's teams, and it will be interesting to see who, if any, can break into the side next campaign.

With the rumours of Mourinho's inevitable takeover at Old Trafford standing firm in the face of interest from PSG, there is, of course, the possibility that none of them do!
All jokes aside, a Great goal from Varela, and the future looks promising for Man Utd fans.
