Many Manchester United fans were worried to see promising Brazilian/Belgian youngster Andreas Pereira shipped out on loan for the 2016/17 season, as having proven himself to be far too gifted for reserve team football, some wanted to see him included in Jose Mourinho's plans for the first team.
Instead, Granada were happy to welcome him on loan where he would be given the chance to cut his teeth in La Liga, and by all accounts he has been impressing, despite the fact that the club are in deep relegation trouble.
His performance at the Bernabeu last month in a hammering against Real Madrid was the only bright spot for the club during the 5-0 loss, but on Monday night he put his side 1-0 up against Las Palmas with a cracking effort.
What a hit son.
Grenada look a cert for relegation, but Pereira has shown enough to suggest that he has a promising career ahead of him. Whether he ever gets a chance at Manchester United remains to be seen, but he is highly thought of by those who have been keeping an eye on the academy in recent years so perhaps he will be granted a chance to impress Jose during the summer pre-season tour.
