Manchester United coasted through Thursday night's Europa League clash with Fenerbache, something that has been an increasingly rare sight for the club's fans in recent years, but their Turkish opponents proved no match for United's high press.
Two first-half penalties and a beauty from Paul Pogba saw Mourinho's men 3-0 up at the break, but it was the two penalties that became the main talking point in the BT Studio.
The score finished 4-1, but when Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves were asked to analyse the game post-match, the former Liverpool and Man Utd striker wouldn't let the issue of Wayne Rooney "handing over" penalty duties lie.
Owen asked why a player like Rooney, who could clearly benefit from a few goals, decided to allow two youngsters to take the penalties, and claimed that he lost the hunger for goals that he once had in his game.
You've got to love that quote from Owen.
I understand, I get all that, but I'm still not having it.
Hargreaves was quick to jump in and let it be known that he wasn't reading too much into what Owen was complaining about, and many Man Utd fans shared that view.
Is he looking too much into it? Yes. If anything, Rooney insisting that he takes the penalty could have caused an on-field argument which would have looked extremely bad, then there is the fact that both penalties were extremely well taken.
It just seemed to be making a fuss over something minor. Owen took some stick on social media, as he always seems to do.
Michael Owen needs to get over the fact that Rooney didn't take the penalty. Team before individuals. #FullTimeDoc
