Watch: Luiz Gustavo Absolutely Loses His Shit After Red Card Vs Bayern

Saturday evening brought about on of the most spectacular on-pitch freakouts we've seen in some time.

After a damaging loss at Hertha Berlin last weekend, Wolfsburg have been sucked into a relegation battle and needed to delay Bayern Munich's title celebrations by taking an unlikely result to ensure a bit of breathing room.

Instead, they went 3-0 down before half-time.

The pressure of Wolfsburg dramatically deteriorating season (they now lie one place above the relegation zone, level with Hamburg) has taken it's toll on captain Luiz Gustavo, as when he was judged to have fouled Renato Sanches, he completely lost the plot and booted the ball away, which saw him shown a second yellow. He then went nuclear, and needed several teammates to wrestle him off the pitch.

To make things even worse, the Wolfsburg players were so shocked by their captain's complete meltdown that Bayern scored directly from the free-kick to make it 5-0.

Wow.

A former Bayern player himself, perhaps embarrassment at the result played a factor as well, but the red card was all his own doing. He snapped, and make things much more difficult for his teammates, who will now surely have to play out the season without their captain as the ban will justifiably be extended.
