John O'Shea is a good captain.
There is no such thing as "just a friendly" for the former Man Utd man, as when he stormed into the Dutch penalty area to connect with a Robbie Brady corner, the sight of a hand blocking the ball's path to goal sent him into a frenzy not seen since that night in Paris.
Rather than see if Shane Long could manage to stuff the ball into the net, as he did, O'Shea went after the linesman and missed the goal entirely. As Long wheeled away to celebrate his goal, you could see Sheasy still gesturing at the poor lino.
Keep an eye on John O'Shea here.
He even had a pop at the ref on his way to celebrate.
That's a captain right there.
You really do get the feeling that Robbie Brady's deliveries are going to be a big problem for Ireland's opponents in France, so perhaps O'Shea was just practising his cricket-appeal.
