This has to be a first.

An A-League match between Brisbane and Adelaide saw some controversy in injury time when Brisbane defender Stefan Mauk ended up being sent off while lying unconscious on the floor.

Mauk went in for a tackle in the 91st minute and whatever way he landed was out cold by the time the referee's whistle blew:

The defender would see red for his tackle, not that he knew a whole lot about it.

Adelaide went on to win the game, both sides ending with 10 men, Taylor Regan getting a second yellow for tangling with Mauk earlier in the game.
