Despite missing the penalty that saw Poland eliminated from Euro 2016, Jakub Błaszczykowski was given a very warm welcome upon arriving home with his teammates after Thursday night's quarter-final against Portugal.
The Borussia Dortmund man (although his club football future is very much up in the air at this moment in time) was Poland's star performer in Euro 2016, chipping in with two goals and an assist from the right-hand side, and this is what the Polish supporters who turned up to the airport remembered rather than the unfortunate penalty.
There was a great turnout in Warsaw to welcome home the team that came so close to reaching the semi-final, and although you could clearly see that Błaszczykowski was dealing with the weight of having missed that penalty, the fans did their best to let him know he was loved.
Kuba's arrival takes place from 4:30 on.
That's great to see.
He will likely be inconsolable for the next while, but to be so clearly given the support of the fans will no doubt help him get over it. Penalty shootouts, eh?
