Ryan Christie's goal proved crucial at Hampden as Celtic overcame Aberdeen to secure their third League Cup of Brendan Rodgers reign.
It marks the clubs seventh successive trophy under Rodgers. Christie finished to the roof of the net after having his initial effort saved by Joe Lewis and it proved to be the only goal of the match.
Speaking to BBC Scotland after the game, Rodgers claimed it was the sweetest success of them all: "This is the most satisfying because it wasn't an easy start to the season for us. The players showed that mentality and strength and talent. Big hearts they've got and now another trophy."
It prompted some wild scenes of celebration inside the stadium, with Kieren Tierney leading the way.

Elsewhere, Rangers moved to the top of the SPL with a 2-1 victory over Hearts although Celtic are only a point behind with a game in hand. Those sides will face each other at the end of the month in what is set to be a much-anticipated derby.
