Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool fell at the final hurdle last night as a 3-1 victory secured Real Madrid the Champions League trophy. It was a highly eventful game that looked to be defined by a Gareth Bale wonder-strike until Liverpool keeper Loris Karius committed a second individual error to gift the Welshman a second goal.
In the aftermath, Jurgen Klopp was gracious in defeat and was full of sympathy for his young keeper:
I really feel for him. He is a fantastic boy, the first one... of course, the second one is because of the first one. Nobody in a game like this, it is really difficult to get rid of the bad thoughts in your mind.

However, several hours later the Liverpool boss was in much greater spirits. As shared by Anfield HQ's Oliver Bond, Klopp was singing with Liverpool fans in Kiev's early hours: "We saw the European Cup, Madrid had all the fucking luck...."
