Joey Barton has never been one to downplay his own career. The English central midfielder endured a very short spell in 2016 with Rangers in Scotland after initially signing a two-year deal. After six months his contract was terminated following a training ground bust-up.
Nevertheless, Barton feels he was above that league anyway and dismissed its playing standard in comparison to the English Premier League.
'The standard of football is PATHETIC up there!'
Watch as @Joey7Barton, who spent less than six months at @RangersFC, gives his damning verdict on Scottish football... ????????

Barton also claimed he was in a different league to players like Scott Brown while in the SPL and he reignited his war of words with the Celtic skipper during the programme.
Is he the full shilling? We saw him up at Aberdeen the other week and then wearing the shades against Rangers.
It seems to me he is a little bit short. He doesn't look the full ticket to me.
Celtic are currently ten points clear with a game in hand and on course to win their seventh title in a row, so it is hard to imagine Scott Brown will be too upset by the dig.
