England played out a thoroughly uninspiring 0-0 away to Slovenia on Tuesday night which did nothing to quell the level of apathy that is currently felt by almost all supporters of the national team.
Aside from a barely believable save from Joe Hart, the most interesting moment of the match came when it all seemed to kick off late in the second half following a shocking tackle from Gary Cahill.
Man Utd's Jesse Lingard was booked for reacting very angrily to something that was initially missed by the live camera, but an alternative angle has revealed that he went nuts after a Slovenian player put his hands around his teammate Marcus Rashford's neck.
Slovenia player grabbed Rashford by the neck and Lingaard was sticking up for his mate. That's why that kicked off. Fair play. pic.twitter.com/6r3OoUYXnQ

Don't touch Marcus Rashford. We're sure any Manchester United fan would have reacted the same way. Many of them took to twitter to express their happniess:
Lingard backing it with Rashford is what I like to see

He's about as hard as my ballbag in a hot bath but Lingard sticking up for Rashford there was good to see.

Lingard getting a yellow card and taking on three Slovenian players after one of their players started on Rashford. That's a bromance.

Stupid as fuck, but I love seeing players stick up for each other the way Lingard does for Rashford https://t.co/Ff1MsEagt7

The two are good pals off the pitch so it's no surprise to see Lingard stick up for the young striker like he did, but judging by the size of the Slovenian players involved, it's for the best that he was held back.
Here is that Joe Hart save by the way, absolutely incredible:
