In the aftermath of Manchester United's derby defeat to City, a lot of fingers were pointed in the direction of Paul Pogba.

Not many of these fingers belonged to Man Utd fans, as Pogba was down the list of players who disappointed on the day after the likes of Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Daley Blind, and Wayne Rooney, but he did not have any sort of influence on the game from midfield and took a lot of stick from fans of other teams because of it.

The memes were out and the 'Missing' posters were badly photoshopped, but what exactly went wrong for Pogba at Old Trafford on Saturday?

Jamie Carragher did a fine job of outlining why on MNF before Sunderland took on Everton.

The former Liverpool man explained that United's set-up was never going to utilise Pogba properly, and the man himself made a number of errors as a result.

There was even a moment where Phil and Jamie had a giggle over Pogba's positioning.

There's no doubt that Guardiola won the tactics battle, but Manchester United were still in the game at half-time and their changes affected the entire feel of the game. Still, when a moment of inspiration was needed, Pogba was not to be found and Carragher is once again spot on to suggest that his lack of suitability to the position was a major issue.
