Manchester United beat Southampton on Friday Night Football, and they looked good doing it.
Southampton had more possession, more passes, and more shots than the home side, but only one of those was on target and David De Gea has the easiest night he's had in three years.
All eyes were on Paul Pogba as the prodigal son had returned home, and he put in a very impressive performance considering it was the first time he had kicked a ball since the Euro 2016 final. Pogba dominated the midfield and looked the time of player that United fans have been crying out for.
After the game in the MNF FNF studio, Jamie Carragher described Pogba as "the best kid in the school ground" (we take it he meant schooly ard, or playground) and hit the nail on the head regarding what he can bring to Jose Mourinho's side.
High praise from the former Liverpool man.
It speaks volume that Mourinho put the Frenchman in as soon as possible, and in playing the full game he proved that he is fit to make an immediate impact, something that Manchester United's signings in recent seasons rarely got a chance to do.
