Everybody loves (or at least hold some sort of curiosity for) hypothetical XI's, and that point was proven by Sky Sports' Monday Night Football dedicating a segment of their build-up to Spurs Vs West Brom to merging the top two teams in the Premier League together.
Had you asked a football fan back in August what they thought of the idea of a combined Spurs/Leicester XI, they would have told you it was totally unnecessary and pointless, but now was we approach May, it is actually the making of a side that would walk the Premier League if they were ever unleashed on the other teams.
That said, when it came down to picking the teams, a few big names were left out and Carragher and Souness' teams ended up looking very different.
Here is what Carragher went for:
Flat 4-4-2, no Dele Alli, Hugo Lloris, or Eric Dier.
And Souness took a different approach:
4-2-3-1, no Jamie Vardy, Moussa Dembele, or Wes Morgan.
What is interesting is how neither gave the nod to Christian Fuchs who has had an excellent season, but so has Danny Rose so it is understandable. It really shows just how strong both sides, Leicester in particular, have become in a short space of time that there are a good few players that could be slotted into that team justifiably.
Here was the reasoning behind the picks, although poor Jamie seemed to forget who he picked and why he picked them:
