Speaking on our football podcast earlier today, Stephen Ward revealed that James McClean is the member of the Irish national squad who retains the closest allegiance to the League of Ireland.
This is the latest example of just how close McClean remains to his Derry home, and he pops home whenever he can.
The latest international break offered him another chance to do this, and fresh from being Ireland's saviour against Moldova, the winger paid a visit home.
As part of that visit, McClean called into Oakleaf Boxing Club, and ended up stepping into the ring to test his sparring strengths against club member Conor McBride.
McClean posted a clip of the session on his Instagram, and you can watch it below.
The footballer is wearing orange in the video below, by the way, and he fairly put it up to his opponent.
McClean probably won that: proof that he is just as combative in the ring as he is on a football pitch.
