West Brom's game away to Arsenal on Monday evening could be a historic match in the Premier League era.
If he plays, Gareth Barry will break the record of most Premier League appearances by one player. Last weekend, he equalled Ryan Giggs' record of 632 games, and should play his 633rd Premier League game at the Emirates.
Barry's Premier League career was lauded by Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand and Glenn Hoddle on BT Sport's Premier League Tonight on Saturday evening.
The former England midfielder's career began at Aston Villa and included spells at Manchester City and Everton, before his move to West Brom in the summer.
One club he could have played for was Liverpool. Rafa Benitez was a fan of the midfielder, and even tried to get him to replace Xabi Alonso at one point.
Presenter Jake Humphrey asked Gerrard about that story, and while the former Liverpool captain's comments were well known, he seemed unimpressed with the next question about Barry.
JH: I know a couple of years later, [Benitez] tried to go back in for him. Did he not ask you to put a good word in for Liverpool? Because it was Liverpool or Man City.
SG: No, I cant remember that one.
RF: Ah Jake, that's out of order!
JH: Do you not remember that? It was in Rafa's book I think.
GH: Rio, give [Jake] a slap.
JH: It was it Rafa's book!
RF: Don't believe everything you read.
JH: Even in Rafa's old book. Has that never happened?
SG: I haven't read his book
JH: You should read his book. It's a good book.
The awkward laughter from Ferdinand and Hoddle was telling, while Gerrard's silence at one question spoke volumes.
