Jack Byrne's remarkable form in Tallaght continues as the midfielder scored twice to help Shamrock Rovers to a 3-1 victory over a determined UCD on Friday night.
Byrne demonstrated superb technical ability throughout and his double paired with an Aaron McEneff injury-time goal ensured Stephen Bradley's outfit stayed top of the league.
Yoyo Mahdy did grab a goal for the students in the first half and there was another strong showing from Ireland U21 star Neil Farrugia but the home side had too much in the end.

Elsewhere, a brave Michael Duffy header was enough to ensure Dundalk overcame Cork City in Oriel Park. There was also wins for Waterford and Derry, while in the Dublin derby Bohemians continued their strong form with a 1-0 victory over St. Patrick's Athletic in Dalymount Park.
