Something of a journeyman professional at this stage, 31-year old Irish defender Alan Sheehan got himself into a bit of bother today as League Two leaders Luton Town took on Lincoln City.
The Hatters are Sheehan's 10th club in a career that has seen him represent Leicester City, Leeds United and Notts County.
Having featured at Championship, League One and League Two levels, Sheehan is looking to help Luton find their way back into English football's third professional tier for the first time since 2008.
After only 4 minutes however in today's top of the table clash, Sheehan flipped.
Captured to the right of the screen, the former Irish U-21 player can be seen lashing out at a Lincoln opponent.
Wearing #44 jersey, Sheehan's innocent pleadings are admirable. However, it was fairly clear what he had done. An opinion that the referee obviously shared - straight red.
Alan Sheehan is a moron. Punching Rhead. Fool.

Although Luton's official Twitter account were a little more generous with their initial assessment.

To make matters worse, Lincoln made hay on their advantage quite quickly; scoring from the resulting free-kick to take an early 1-0 lead.
Not sitting pretty at the top of League Two for nothing however, Luton rallied, and, despite playing the bulk of the match with 10 men, managed to claim a vital 4-2 victory.
Keep an eye to the right of the screen and you can see the Irishman's silly action below.
