Shane Long's heated face-off with Italian goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu, complete with his Fabien Barthez-esque shorts antics, will likely join the 'John Alridge dishing out abuse to Fernando Cuotos' of this world as an iconic Irish sporting clip.

The Tipp man seemed to channel his inner-Conor McGregor as he somewhat inexplicably roared in the PSG 'keeper's face from point blank range, and naturally the images went semi-viral in European football's Twitter circles before Sirigu positively bottled it as Robbie Brady nodded a famous goal past the falling Italian.

Irish football fan and artist Peter Fagan took to his canvas to recreate the best angle of Shane Long's maniacal expression, and recorded his work as he progressed.
