Sport is bloody marvellous sometimes. While England were pouring over abject humiliation (and we were all basking in it), the Iceland players were still celebrating inside the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice.
Didi Hamann was taking a match and some lighter fluid to the straw man that is the Premier League while across the Irish Sea, the inquests were already over and it was time to dish out the punishment. Roy Hodgson was falling on his sword in a less than heroic manner. Alan Shearer was sticking his oar in to let it be known that he'd quite like the job . Chris Waddle was going off on one. And Ian Wright was talking about Space Jam.
Amid all that, Iceland was still celebrating. The entire country was either in the stadium or tuned in to the TV back home and, unfortunately for us, the TV cameras missed some of the most incredibly emotional celebrations you're likely to see.
Thankfully, Russian photographer @TimZhur was on hand to record some of the Icelandic celebrations and they're nothing short of incredible.
