Inter Milan have secured a place in next season's Champions League after a highly dramatic ending to their Seria A clash against Lazio. With ten minutes left, Lazio led 2-1 when Stefan de Vrij conceded a penalty.
For those unaware, De Vrij was playing his last game for Lazio having already agreed a deal to move next season. The club he had signed a contract with? Inter Milan.
Inter converted the spot kick and De Vrij was soon taken off, but it soon went from bad to worse as Matías Vecino landed a late winner to condemn Lazio to the Europa League.

Dramatic turnaround at the Stadio Olimpico where Lazio’s Stefan de Vrij gave a penalty away to trigger an Inter comeback. Guess who the Dutchman will be playing UCL football for next season? Just saying. #LazioInter

De Vrij now subbed off. What's it going to be like in that Lazio changing room if this scoreline holds?

The Stadio Olimpico erupted on the final whistle, while the result will provide some huge reassurance to Luciano Spalletti who may have feared losing some big players this summer should they have failed to guarantee European football.
De Vrij looks set to for a hearty welcome to his future club, but he may face some uncomfortable goodbyes after tonight's result.
