The news was confirmed earlier today that Shamrock Rovers man Graham Burke is in the Republic of Ireland provisional squad for the upcoming games against Celtic, France and the United States. The news came after Burke scored a screamer in front of Martin O'Neill during Rovers' recent 3-0 win against Cork City, something he has done on more than one occasion this season.

Just a week earlier, he cut in from out wing and unleashed a left-footed strike against Limerick City.

It's a gem of a left foot, as he also demonstrated against Waterford earlier this year.

While Shamrock Rovers have endured a mixed season Burke has been a silver lining and is the top scorer in the league this year with nine goals. The former Aston Villa man has an admirable willingness to take men on and a clear ability to shoot from anywhere. Hopefully, he is given the opportunity to show it in Glasgow later this month.
