Burton Albion visited the Etihad this evening in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Man City, and at full time, it's fair to say they were completely deflated.
A strong Man City side never let up as the home side, scoring NINE goals to make the return leg at the Pirelli Stadium a dead rubber.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring with a rare header in the fifth minute after a wonderful cross from David Silva:

City's advantage was doubled on the half hour mark when Gabriel Jesus headed home a loose ball from a rebound:

Four minutes later and Pep Guardiola's side would be 3-0 up, with David Silva timing his run to perfection and laying the ball off to Jesus, who finished low and hard against the post:
After the break City did not let up and on 57 minutes, Jesus completed his hat trick, heading home after good work from Riyad Mahrez on the right:

Jesus would plunder his fourth goal of the afternoon on 65 minutes in what was probably the slickest move of the night, Leroy Sane controlling well before nutmegging a Burton Albion player with his outside of the boot cross, which the Brazilian duly poked home:
An eight would then come five minutes later when Kyle Walker, clearly desperate to get in on the act found himself in the opposition box, coolly slotting home after a pull back from Mahrez:
The ninth and final goal was scored by Mahrez in the 86th minute, with a scrappy finish in the box at the second attempt:
By the end of the game City fans were chanting 'we want ten', but it was a grim experience for Burton fans or indeed the neutral as the Premier League side completely outclassed Nigel Clough's men.
