Well that didn't last long at all.
Despite Georgia being gifted a goal by Aleksander Kolarov, they managed to let the lead slip and concede three goals to give Serbia a big away win to send them to the top of the table in Group D before Ireland's match with Wales kicks off later.
The first goal was a penalty after a brainless foul in the box. Dusan Tadic converted, and has now an impressive stat line of four goals and five assists from five matches.
The second goal was a cracker.
Newcastle striker Alex Mitrovic took a break from being a headcase for long enough to place a sublime finish past the Georgian keeper, after being given all the space and time in the world from the back four.
And any hopes of a late equaliser were crushed when Mijat Gacinovic rolled the ball home after some shambolic defending.
Good for bloody nothing, those Georgians!
While they were sound enough to take points of Wales already, they had better not get any notions when the boys in green head to Tbilisi later in the year, or else they'll lose their status as sound lads.
