France are the 2018 World Cup champions. Didier Deschamps' side were deserved victors after a convincing 4-2 victory against Croatia in Moscow.
The result marked a particular triumph for Didier Deschamps, who was much-maligned coming into the tournament and famously labelled 'the water-carrier' by Eric Cantona. Today Deschamps had his vindication and became just the third man ever to win the World Cup as a player and a manager.
However, he was not afforded the opportunity to gloat post-match, as his press conference was invaded by an ecstatic French team overjoyed with their success.
