Benches Empty In Aussie Cup Final After Player Manhandles Ballboy

Sydney FC won the Australian Cup final today, beating Adelaide United 2-1 after extra time.

Less than three minutes after Brazilian Bobô had headed home the winner for Sydney, there were chaotic scenes on the sidelines.

After a ballboy had refused to immediately hand over the ball to Michael Marrone, the Adelaide United defender manhandled the kid to the ground.

A free for all ensued when Sydney's Matt Simon confronted Marrone. Marrone would be red carded for the incident shortly after.

The ballboy would later be rewarded for his time-wasting heroics. Sydney's Michael Zullo gave presented him with his winner's medal.
