A freak incident in the KNVB Cup has seen a chipped shot somehow bounce back off the line in a match.
The shot occurred in a match between AZ Alkmaar and PEC Zwolle, when midfielder Mats Seuntjens dinked the ball towards the goal on the edge of the box.
The shot seemed destined for the back of the net but in an extraordinary turn of events such was the amount of backspin on the ball, it bounced back off the line once it hit the ground.
Ever seen a chip shot hit with so much backspin that it lands on the goal line and doesn’t go in?!?pic.twitter.com/eBmMnAD4ZS

As it turned out Seuntjens shot would not end up being a pivotal moment in the tie, with the Eredivisie side going on to win the match 5-0, though the mdifielder is surely still scratching his head over how he managed to pull off such a bizarre shot.
