While there may have been some signs of life for a while, it cannot be argued that Manchester United's season has been an unmitigated disaster. There are serious questions hanging over the structure at the club, including the type of playing personnel they have recruited in recent years.
Their squad seems in need of a major overhaul, while it remains thoroughly unclear if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the man to lead such a rebuild. After a strong start to his reign, their form has dropped off a cliff since he was given the job on a permanent basis.
United have been hammered in the media in recent weeks, but if there is one place they should be safe from major criticism, it's MUTV.
Like most other big clubs, United have had their own in-house tv channel for a number of years now. Such channels are generally a type of propaganda for the clubs, building up the team and rarely featuring any type of real criticism.
When someone speaks about the club, they hardly ever have a bad word to say. That is why Geoffrey Boycott's appearance on MUTV tonight was such a joy.
The former England cricketer was interviewed by the channel at United's annual awards dinner, and he didn't really hold anything back. You can see the interviewer desperately trying to turn the interview in a different direction, but he has very little success.
I think it's safe to say Geoffrey Boycott won't be allowed on MUTV again. 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/LmzuCPNs6X

We get the feeling he will not be asked back again. The players, the club, Solskjaer, nobody is safe when Geoffrey is around.
Everything he said is true, but you wouldn't expect it on this place. Great to see.
