Former Cork City striker Roy O'Donovan is currently playing his football with the Central Coast Mariners in Australia's A League. The Mariners are currently 10th in the A-League title, and lost 4-2 to Adelaide United this morning. The defeat was not for want of O'Donovan's best efforts. He scored a superb brace, here is the first, cutting inside to find the near post with an expert finish:

That gave Mariners the lead, which they then squandered spectacularly, falling 4-1 behind. O'Donovan then got a second consolation goal that was incredibly satisfying:

A great strike. Despite O'Donovan's best efforts, the Mariners are enduring a miserable season, bottom of the league with just 13 points from 25 games. They are doomed to finish bottom of the pile: 9th placed Wellington are twelve points ahead of them. With a game in hand. Still, great to see O'Donovan doing well.
