He hasn't played since November 1 due to a hamstring injury. His club were 1-0 down, then 1-1 when he was called upon. He was on the pitch just a few minutes and yet still, Sean Maguire stood up and landed a crucial winner for Preston North End. He then backed it up with a second for good measure.
Alex Neil's side traveled to Bolton today knowing three points was a must if they were to launch any late drive for a play-off position. Maguire, making his return after a hamstring injury ruled him out for four months, forced his way in front of a scrabbling centre-half and finished a low cross to make it 2-1.

He followed it up shortly after with some lovely control before slotting past Ben Alnwick.

There was plenty of Irish involvement in the tie, as Alan Browne and Greg Cunningham both started with Cunningham captaining the side. Preston's season has been defined by a lack of finishing but it seems that problem may now be solved thanks to Maguire's return.
