It's rare that a player raises their hands to an opponent and has a reason to be upset when shown a red card, but Eric Bailly will miss the Europa League final thanks to the type of dive that people mock the sport of football for.
After Celta Vigo equalised on the night, and needed one goal to go through, tensions spilled over following a free-kick decision in the middle of the pitch.
There was a lot of confusion and a delay to the game, but the Celta Vigo players were absolutely incensed with something Eric Bailly had done.
Once the referee had calmed things down, both Bailly and Facundo Roncaglia of Celta Vigo were shown red cards... But then we saw the replay.
That is an absolute joke.
Bailly should have been booked for an unnecessary reaction, it was stupid from him, but John Guidetti needs to take a long, hard look at himself in the mirror.
United were absolutely woeful on the night, and if Celta Vigo had managed to get the second goal and gone through they could blame nobody but themselves. Fans of the club will surely want to forget tonight ever happened and look forward to the final.
However, with Ajax waiting, they are going to need to play a hell of a lot better if they want to win the whole thing.
