Eamon Dunphy once described Eric Bailly as "a bit of a headbanger", and while most Manchester United fans have been delighted with what the Ivorian has shown early in his career at the club, it's hard to argue with the RTÉ pundit.
Bailly's style of defending is... Unique. He's clearly got ability on the ball, but he also has a fondness of booting people into the stands and looks an absolute nightmare to play against.
His style is unconventional at times, but effective, although it can lead to him picking up a few knocks. One of these knocks saw him temporarily withdrawn from Thursday night's match against Zorya in the Europe league, and on his comeback form injury no less, but as he was receiving treatment, the TV crew flashed up some of his highlights from the game up to that point..
And they made for great viewing.
After looking absolute disgusted by the idea of needing a stretcher, we then saw Bailly try a bicycle kick while on attack, make a bizarre-yet-brilliant interception with his toe and the back of his head, and kill an attack dead with a magnificent stop tackle on the edge of his own area...
Eric Bailly in a nutshell.
He's a bit mental, but Manchester United fans love that in a defender.. As long as there is someone a bit calmer beside him, and tonight he had Daley Blind to balance things out.
He'll stick his head in where the boots are flying, and looks to be a very good bit of business. Now if he can just stay fit...
