The Irish army at Preston North End took a nosedive in members last month when both Andy Boyle and Kevin O'Connor were loaned out for the rest of the season, but the talented remaining contingent are on course to drive Alex Neil's side into the playoffs.
Today they beat Hull City 2-1. An early Jarrod Bowen goal put the home side behind but Irish left-back Greg Cunningham grabbed the equaliser with a thumping header.

Former Cork City man Alan Browne converted a penalty to give Preston the lead and he was also awarded man of the match after a very accomplished performance.

After the game Preston boss Alex Neil was full of praise for Browne.
He’s such a reliable player, I would hate to play against him. He trains how he plays and he doesn’t stop.
Preston are now just 3 points of Bristol in seventh place with a home clash against Wolves next week.
