A surreal moment took place in the CONMEBOL qualifiers last night as Ecuador defeated Chile 3-0.
Manchester United's Antonio Valencia scored the opener, but it was another Valencia who has grabbed the headlines as Enner, of Everton on loan from West Ham, left the pitch in an ambulance that was chased by police.
Enner Valencia Fake Injury
Apparently, Valencia had a warrant out for his arrest due to unpaid child support, and police were waiting until the game finished to arrest him, but he went down under strange circumstances late on before leaving the pitch with an oxygen mask helping him breathe.
Fox Soccer have summarised the situation in a handy video, and it looks like one of the strangest things we've seen on a football pitch.

Even more bizarre is the fact that the warrant has been revoked, and Valencia has since re-joined the national team... In that case it was a very smart move by the Ecuador striker, but this entire storyline is like something out of 'Dream Team'.
The image of police running after a medical cart is something you do not expect to see when you watch the South American World Cup qualifiers, but it's hilarious none the less.
