The League of Ireland has witnessed a succession of messes verging on crises in the last six weeks or so: the Athlone Town situation, the Bray affair, and the U-15 league confusion.....when it rains, it pours.
Eir Sport have been committed broadcasters to the League, and whether they have felt the above in metaphorical terms, they endured it quite literally in Tallaght tonight.
They are broadcasting pitchside tonight ahead of Shamrock Rovers' second-leg Europa League tie with Stjarnan, and ahead of kick-off, they fell victim to the ground's sprinklers. Host Conor Morris was the ultimate pro, whereas Pat Fenlon, Damien Lynch, and Brian Kerr scarpered.
Listen out for the crowd reaction....outstanding.
It's the clip everyone wants to see! The eir Sport panel were on the wrong end of a sprinkler @tallaghtstadium. #LOIinEurope pic.twitter.com/niVD15U72h
