Edin Dzeko is fondly remembered by Manchester City fans having played a part in two Premier League title wins. Since his move to Roma, he has only improved as a player, turning into one of the deadliest finishers around. His side faced off against Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League this evening, hoping to hang on to the 2-1 lead they took away from the opening leg.
His opposite number would Porto's January signing, and notorious shithouser, Pepe. The two were always likely to clash, given that the Portuguese defender would start an argument with his own reflection.
In a tight affair, that moment arrive ten minutes into the second half. The pair disagreed over a refereeing decision, and squared. They put their heads together, as players often do in those circumstances. Dzeko should be embarrassed with what happened next.

The Bosnian striker was definitely hoping that Pepe's reputation would process him here, and that the referee would assume the worst. It didn't work out like that, and he was well aware of what Dzeko was trying to do.
