Martin O'Neill named his Ireland squad to face Austria in our crucial World Cup qualifier on Sunday, and there were a few surprises included such as Burnley's Kevin Long partnering Shane Duffy in defence.
In midfield, O'Neill opted for a three of Glenn Whelan, Harry Arter, and Jeff Hendrick which meant there was no place for Wes Hoolahan.
It's no secret that Dunphy loves Wesso, in fact it's pretty much a meme, but Eamon still took time out to slam the decision not to include him, and he stuck the boot into Glenn Whelan while he was at it.
The Stoke City man has been linked away from the club where he has made 300+ appearances, most of them in the Premier League, but Dunphy labelled his selection against Austria as 'inexplicable'.

No Wes Hoolahan, it's hard to see who is going to be the playmaker in midfield, and when you're at home the task of playmaker is important, you've got to open the opposition up.
Whelan's presence is inexplicable really, when he went off in Vienna against the same opponents and David Meyler came on we improved enormously.
Whelan does nothing, really. He effectively doesn't do what Arter does which is be sharp in the tackle, he never really looks for the ball.
Dunphy also revealed that he was surprised to not see Daryl Murphy up front, which is odd considering how impressive Jon Walters looked against Uruguay, but it's safe to say that the RTÉ man was not impressed with the team as a whole.
The point on opening Austria up is certainly a valid one, although when the Eir Sport pundits were discussing Wesso last week they suggested it was between himself and Hendrick for a starting spot, rather than Whelan, and they wanted the Burnley man to start.
