RTE Series 'Cloch le Carn' paid tribute to the much loved and greatly missed Bill O'Herlihy this evening.
The show looked back at his current affairs background, his work with Garret Fitzgerald, his controversial shunting into the sports department, and his work as the first ever main anchor of RTE's soccer coverage. It also dwelt on his defiant Corkness, a condition which effortlessly survived many years living in Dublin.
As the programme drew to a close, Eamon Dunphy explained how Bill's death had affected him and the rest of the panel - Eamo, Gilesy and Brady carried his coffin at the funeral - and Bill's daughters Sally and Jill told a story of the taxi-driver who had driven Bill home from the IFTA's on the night he died.
