Arsenal well and truly shat the bed in the second half of their Champions League last 16 tie with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night, as after being gifted a route back into the match from the penalty spot earlier in the night, they slumped to an embarrassing 5-1 defeat.
The turning point of the game appeared to be the injury sustained by Laurent Koscielny, as when he left the pitch Arsenal shipped four goals and looked like boys up against the men of Bayern Munich.
At half-time, Richie Sadlier gave a cutting analysis of Arsenal's defending for the opening goal, but at full time, Eamon Dunphy summed up the mentality of the Arsenal players when he revealed how he reacted to Koscielny's injury, with an absolutely classic Dunphy quote.
Koscielny is a leader, and when Gabriel came on for him, I rushed to the phone and had a bet.
Not a fan of the Brazilian defender, it seems.
What spurred Eamon Dunphy to “rush to the phone” and have a bet in @FCBayern v @Arsenal? #RTEsoccer #UCL pic.twitter.com/lH3TUrWUKX

The nod of approval from Didi Hamann was outstanding.
If he really did put the bet on, which we have no reason to believe he did otherwise, then he would have earned himself a nice little wedge because he was spot on. Arsenal were devoid of leadership following Koscielny's departure, and we're sure Eamon wasn't the only one who took advantage of the in-play betting.
Arsenal, it seems, are now heading out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage, yet again.
