In what was supposed to be something of a procession for Manchester City, League One's Wigan Athletic have been good value for the 0-0 draw they hold at half-time.
Having tested City a few times on the counter-attack, Wigan could have taken the lead if not for some smart goalkeeping from Claudio Bravo.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City were not of course without their chances also, and in a tightly contested FA Cup fifth round first half, the match is now poised for an exciting conclusion.
One person who will play no further part is City's Fabian Delph. Sent off by Anthony Taylor for a lunging slide tackle on Wigan's Max Power, Delph will have reason to be disappointed with the decision.
Having initially had a yellow-card in his hand, Taylor vouched for the red instead; much to the chagrin of Guardiola.
Initially discussing the decision in a seemingly civil manner with Wigan boss Paul Cook, the former Barcelona manager became increasingly irritated; something the former Sligo Rovers boss Cook didn't seem too keen to halt.
Becoming increasingly frustrated with one another, the two began arguing a little more angrily on the sideline; it was a row that carried on down the tunnel.
