Spain's preparations for the World Cup saw them face Switzerland today, in a game that saw a rare mistake from David De Gea gift AC Milan defender Ricardo Rodríguez a goal.
Spain took an early lead when Álvaro Odriozola scored midway through the first half, but Switzerland pulled one back on the hour mark. The Manchester United shot-stopper seemed to have a Stephan Lichtsteiner shot covered with a routine dive to his left but spilled the ball at Rodríguez's feet.

1-1 - De Gea spills a pretty easy one, and Ricardo Rodriguez on hand to hammer home the equaliser from two yards.

Very unlike De Gea. Never got his hands behind the ball. Just really sloppy from him.

De Gea seriously needs to step his game up for Spain. He’s still yet to replicate his form for United with the national team.

The game finished 1-1. De Gea had been in outstanding form for his club this season and it is unlikely the error will concern Julen Lopetegui too much, who was a goalkeeper himself during his playing career. His country are in group B this summer, along with Portugal, Morocco and Iran.
