Last year, we saw David Bentley on Irish TV screens with an appearance on the AIB commisioned documentary 'The Toughest Trade'. It featured the former Spurs and Blackburn player turning out for Crossmaglen Rangers in a challenge game against Silverbridge.
Towards the end of the documentary, Bentley spoke of how the dressing room camaraderie made him nostalgic for his playings days.
Bentley retired from football in 2014, aged just 29, citing a diminished lack of passion for the game as his reason.
On BT Sport's 'Fletch And Sav' on Saturday morning, Bentley spoke regarding his retirement. He explained that he had become bored with football and that the lack of fun in the dressing room, the like of which he had during his brief stint with Crossmaglen, was a major factor in this.
I just got to the point and I said 'This is boring'. I was going into and no one talks, you just went in and had a massage. Everyone's getting ready for the game.
I love football. Crossing the white line, I love it. When you're out there, brilliant. It's just the day to day.

The kind of dressing room 'banter' Bentley was nostalgic for was related in an ancedote about a prank which Robbie Savage played on him during their time together at Blackburn.
"I thought it was McClaren!" Bentley remembers the time @RobbieSavage8 pranked him about an @england call-up. https://t.co/oHP81YvT9k
