The first half between Dundalk and Cork City in the top-of-the-table clash in the League Of Ireland on Tuesday night was all about one man, Lillywhites winger Daryl Horgan.
After an outstanding year both domestically and in Europe for Dundalk, there have been calls for Martin O'Neill to include Horgan in his Ireland squads, most recently by Stephen Hunt on RTÉ, but if the Ireland boss wasn't impressed by Dayrl's delightful free-kick that forced an own-goal to make the score 1-0 after six minutes... Then there's not doubt what followed will have caught his attention as he watched on from the stands.
Horgan picked up the ball DEEP in his own half before carrying it all the way to the edge of the Cork City area, where he proceeded to thump the ball home and double his team's advantage:
The Magic Man.
A spectacular goal, it's fitting that he has showcased exactly what he can do in such a big game. Cork City responded well to Dundalk's early goal, but that will have been a big blow right before the half.
Daryl Horgan, take a bow.
