Daley Blind you lucky, lucky boy.
Reinstated to the starting lineup for Manchester United's Capital One Cup match against Middlesbrough, the Dutchman was clearly eager to impress having lost his spot after an excellent start to the season, but his night very nearly turned into a disaster in the second half.
Following a Boro shot that rebounded off the post, Blind showed a striker's instinct to sweep the ball into his own net. He thought it counted too as he put his head in his hands, but would have breathed a massive sigh of relief when he saw the linesman's flag:
#MUFC's Daley Blind with the worst own goal in the history of humanity... saved by an offsides flag. pic.twitter.com/6Ll5mXnFWD

It almost looks deliberate, the true sign of a quality own goal.
Thanks to @BarstoolSam for the clip.
