Who said VAR removed the drama from the game?
Spurs and Manchester City played out a relatively uneventful opening 35 minutes or so in their Premier League clash this afternoon, but VAR ensured there would be a lively finish to the half.
Pep Guardiola's side were awarded a penalty after a foul on Sergio Aguero. However, the spot kick was not given right away.
The challenge was initially deemed as a fair by referee Mike Dean, who allowed play to continue. He would then be told to bring the play back a couple of minutes.
That wasn't the end of the drama. Gundogan would miss the penalty, but it looked like City were about to given a second penalty just seconds later. Raheem Sterling reacted quickest to the rebound and it looked like he was hauled down by Hugo Lloris.
Spurs players reacted badly to the incident, believing the England international had dived. A VAR check would prove them to be correct, with a goal kick given.
ABSOLUTE SCENES!
Mike Dean pulls the game back for a penalty a few minutes after the challenge by Aurier. Gundogan misses, VAR then checks for another foul on Sterling!

Had Sterling been booked for diving, he would have been sent off.
He was lucky not to be given a straight red card earlier in the game for a nasty looking challenge on Dele Alli, instead getting a yellow card.
Should Raheem Sterling have been sent off for this one? Mourinho was raging!pic.twitter.com/ZmnF4cDzct
