Coventry are in an absolutely dire situation right now, as they sit rock bottom of league one with no manager in place, and fans have had enough of the life and soul being sucked out of the club.
Frustrations with Sisu, the group that own the club, reached tipping point a long time ago, but as previous protests and petitions to have them removed have proved ineffective, a rather dramatic display of discontent was planned for the a match that would be shown live on TV.
With the score at 1-1 between Coventry and Sheffield United, the home fans took to the pitch in the 85th minute, forcing the referee to call the players off the pitch, and it all went down live on Sky Sports.
Unfortunately for those Coventry fans, it was the home side who seemed to be most disturbed by the break, as Sheffield United scored just seconds after the restart.
The score finished 1-2, but the result doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things.
With no manager, barely enough players to field a team, and the apparent inevitability of relegation, Coventry fans want the club returned to them so they can begin to rebuild.
While storming the pitch and disrupting a live game seems drastic, it might just be the move that forces the owners' hand. We'll have to wait and see.
