Mark Goddard was not impressed with Conor McGregor when the Dubliner was attempting to coach Artem Lobov despite not being a member of his corner team at a recent UFC Fight Night event, but things were taken to a whole new level as Bellator 187 got underway in Ireland on Friday night.
McGregor's teammate Charlie Ward had just defeated John Redmond via stoppage in the final minutes of the first round of their fight at the 3Arena, when McGregor jumped the fence and sprinted in to celebrate with his friend.
Goddard ordered McGregor out of the octagon as the fighter who had been defeated had yet to be attended to by the doctors or his cornermen, but rather than leave quiety McGregor went after the refeeree in an aggressive manner.
The footage is nothing short of crazy.
Accoring to Petesy Carroll of MMAFighting.com, McGregor could be heard shouting "that was a fucking stoppage" as he attempted to return to the octagon.
When McGregor initially left the cage, he turned around and ran back into the enclosure shouting “that was a f*cking stoppage” before he was again asked to leave.
After his final exit from the cage, he did a lap of the stage waving to the fans in attendance.
It appears to have been a misunderstanding, one where McGregor got over-excited at seeing his friend win, which greatly upset Goddard, and McGregor was not about to have a discussion regarding whether or not he was allowed to be there.
Bizzarre scenes.
