Colin Doyle definitely won't want to see this one again. Hearts have fallen to a heartbreaking last minute defeat against Motherwell in the SPL, with Republic of Ireland 'keeper Colin Doyle making one of the worst mistakes you are likely to see.
With the scores level deep into injury time, Motherwell got a free kick well outside the opposition penalty area. Instead of swinging the ball to the far post, they decided to have a speculative shot at goal. It was a weak enough effort, but Doyle proceeded to make a bit of a balls of the situation. Take a look at this one:
Love this. Awful free kick, awful goalkeeping. #motherwell #hearts pic.twitter.com/BZSADonzC5

It doesn't look any better from alternative angles.
What a great game of football. Two great goals but settled like this in the 93rd minute #motherwell pic.twitter.com/WlNPkZZQNn

While the ball bounces in front of the goalkeeper, there was very little pace on the shot. He ran across the goal to attempt to get his body behind the ball, but he definitely miscalculated. A heartbreaking way to lose a game.
Doyle has been a fixture in Republic of Ireland squads for the last couple of years, winning three caps in international friendlies last year. He has four appearances in total, with his debut coming on the infamous tour of the US in 2007.
The 33-year old moved to Hearts last summer after a very successful two-year stint with Bradford City.
