What a guy. Liverpool have gone top of the Premier League after a 4-0 demolition of Bournemouth this afternoon, with Mo Salah the star of the show. The Egyptian netted a hat-trick in a scintillating display, his second in a Liverpool shirt.
He was undoubtedly the best performer on the pitch, and Sky Sports named him as the man-of-the-match.
Salah was joined in the traditional post-match interview by captain for the day James Milner, who reached a career milestone in this game. Today marked the 500th Premier League appearance of his career, becoming only the 13th player to achieve that feat.
At the end of the interview, Milner was asked to hand the man-of-the-match award to his teammate. However Salah refused to accept the trophy, gifting instead to his teammate to reward the landmark moment in his career.
Hat-trick hero @MoSalah refuses to take his Man of the Match award and hands it over to @JamesMilner on his 500th Premier League appearance. ???

I will not take it, he's had 500 games! I have to congratulate him for his amazing career, and he deserves it today.
He's had an amazing career and I hope we are going to win something this season together, but I will not take it.
A fantastic gesture from Mo Salah. To be fair, he will not go home empty handed today, having come away with the match ball for his efforts.
For a man supposedly having a slow start to the season, his stats are remarkable. His three goals today move him joint-top of the Premier League scoring charts on 10 goals. He also has four assists to his name.
Liverpool will need their marquee forward to keep up this pace if they are to challenge Manchester City for the league title this season, with this win moving them ahead of their rivals for a few hours at least.
