Chris Sutton was back covering Scottish football on Friday night as Rangers prepared to take on Inverness, and the pundit who has delighted us with his no-nonsense coverage of Rangers in recent weeks once again had us nodding in agreement.
With Rangers boss Mark Warburton being ordered out of a press conference due to a question about Joey Barton during the week, there was only one starting point, and Sutton have a typically spot-on analysis of the whole situation.
The one thing that stands out about this Barton saga, and it has become a saga at this stage, is how avoidable the whole thing seems to be. Sutton explained, with respect to the Rangers boss, that stronger manager would have nipped this in the bud.
Nobody is better at briefly interrupting people to great comedic effect. Sutton has that corner nailed down.
And what he has said is bang on the money as well, the handling of this situation looks off from the outside looking in. The whole thing has been left to linger which has only drawn more curiosity and more scrutiny, something that Warburton clearly wants to avoid.
Fast becoming our favourite pundit is the former Blackburn and Celtic man.
